Janelas Verdes
Janelas Verdes

In the heart of the city of Lisbon, Janelas Verdes 34-58, a residential building with 736.50m2 of implementation area and 4829.35m2 of construction area, located next to the National Museum of Ancient Art, is a high quality intervention and excellent architecture.
As it was not possible to safeguard the elevation of the pre-existing building, a greater harmonization and balance of the main facade was sought, in accordance with the constructive logic of the original period of the buildings in the surrounding area. In this sense, in order to reinterpret this memory, wooden frames and metal frames were used on the ground floor openings and garage doors.
On the back facade of the building, it was decided to place decorative elements similar to those placed on the front elevation in order to achieve a greater aesthetic balance between them. On this elevation, protected from the city’s chaos, balconies were placed that aim to be light and careful elements, with glass guards and protected visibility areas through the placement of extruded aluminum sheets. From these balconies we have views of the building’s common areas on the ground floor, which feature an outdoor living area with a swimming pool, gym and green areas, resulting in a vertical garden, which transports us outside the city. The apartments on the ground floor have patios, where you can enjoy green areas and private living spaces.
